First Thursday Reception: June 2, 6 - 9 pm
Mise-en-Scène is a french idiomatic expression that describes the visual components of storytelling, usually as it pertains to theatre or film. It can describe anything that appears within the frame or on the stage, from props and costumes to framing strategies and formal composition. The artworks and artists featured in the exhibition Mise-en-Scène all employ traditional representational storytelling techniques in an attempt to gain some slight insight into humankind’s shared internal life.
