Christine Bourdette
Small Universes
September 1 - October 1, 2005
First Thursday Reception:
September 1st, 6 pm – 9 pm

Christine Bourdette Small Universes will feature new drawings and sculpture by this established Northwest artist. Bourdette’s figurative drawings and sculptures are as much an expression of the human psyche as they are a representation of the human form. Each of the works feature groupings of people and address the nature of group dynamics. The exhibit will include several charcoal on paper drawings and three groupings of figures created in a variety of media. The sculpture Asides crafted from leather, wax, pigment, and wood is a grouping of ten half scale human forms interacting with one another. In both the two and three-dimensional work gesture, form, and line delineate the individual figures while articulating the tensions between the individual and the group.
