Thursday, April 26, 6:00 pm

Matthew Picton
’s wall-mounted sculptures of urban and rural environments reconstruct, in paper and vellum, geographical aerial views of specific sites from city streets to complex river systems. Picton’s sculptural reliefs are at once cartographic, topographical and cultural, incorporating period-specific texts, musical scores and often film stills.

Join us to examine Picton’s work a bit further with a screening of Il Casanova the 1976 film by
Federico Fellini. This film helped inspire Picton’s work, Venice #2 Casanova featured in his solo exhibition El Dorado, currently on view at the gallery.

The film will start at 6pm (doors at 5:30pm). Popcorn, wine and beer will be served.
