Please join us at Elizabeth Leach Gallery for a conversation between gallery artist Pat Boas and independent curator and writer, Rachel Rosenfield Lafo on Tuesday, August 27 at 6:15 pm. Boas and Lafo will discuss the work on view in Memo.
Elizabeth Leach Gallery has exhibited Pat Boas' work since 2010 and has represented her since 2015. Her work has been shown at the Portland Art Museum, PDX Contemporary, The Art Gym and Disjecta Contemporary Art Center, in Portland, Oregon. Nationally her work has been exhibited at the Hallie Ford Museum (Salem, OR), the Center for Contemporary Art (Santa Fe, NM), the Boise Art Museum (Boise, ID), the Salt Lake Art Center (Salt Lake, UT), the Nicolaysen Museum (Casper, WY), the Center on Contemporary Art (Seattle, WA) and the Cleveland Museum of Art (Cleveland, OH). In 2017 she was a Hallie Ford Visual Arts Fellow. The work in Memo was produced in support by a 2018 Oregon Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship.
Rachel Rosenfield Lafo is an independent curator and writer based in Portland, who previously was Director of the Richmond Art Gallery, Richmond, BC; Director of Curatorial Affairs at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA, and Associate Curator at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon. She has organized numerous exhibitions of contemporary art, authored catalogues, essays, reviews and articles, has served as a juror, visiting critic, panelist and lecturer, taught curatorial studies and museum administration. Her most recent writing project is an interview with Portland artist Malia Jensen published in the July/August 2019 issue of Sculpture magazine.
