The Portland Art Museum recently installed gallery artist Judy Cooke's 1972 piece, Celebration After the Fact.
As noted by Grace Kook-Anderson, The Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art at the Portland Art Museum, A Celebration After the Fact is an "important transitional work for Cooke that celebrated not only the birth of her child but the prospect of making art again after childbirth." It is the first tarp piece completed by Cooke and a notable piece in the museum's Northwest Art collection.
